Information on this Year’s King And Queens

Carnival Queen

Rose Queen Ysgol Estyn

Siân Prydderch

Currently working in local schools as a cover supervisor and teaching assistant. She has been a young leader in Hope Rainbows for the past 10 years and is due to receive an award for 5 years service as an adult leader. Enjoys going to the theatre and although has taken a break from performing herself, She hopes to participate once again in productions. She started her performing career in local amateur dramatics group Hopefools. Her experience from this group, along with studying her degree in Theatre and Performance at Glyndwr led  to two years of professional pantomime in Wrexham. In her spare time she enjoys boxercise and swimming, as well as going to music and comedy gigs. In September, she starts her teacher training to become an English teacher which will hopefully lead to a long and happy career.

Our lovely Rose Queen this year from Hope is Yanira Hernandez Williams. She will be 11 years old in a few weeks and is looking forward to going to High School in September.  

Yanira enjoys school and being with her friends. Her favourite subject is Art but she also likes playing netball.

When she is at home Yanira loves playing with her adourable dog, princess. When she is older she is thinking of maybe training as a vet or a lawyer.

She also likes listening to music and her favourite group is ‘The Vamps’.

We Have Our Dragon King!

Hope, Caergwrle ana Abermorddu Carnival are proud to announce that they have a Dragon King this year – Joseph Parry, age 11. He was chosen by Abermorddu Primary School from their year 6 class.

Joseph is an accomplished cricketer and plays for Brymbo in the under 15’s team which he attends four nights a week. He also enjoys football and is a member of the local scouts.

At home he enjoys playing his guitar or being on his x-box.

Joseph is a caring boy and is always looking out for his two sisters. He also loves his lurcher dog called Merlin who he looks after well.

King Joseph will be accompanied by two princesses; his classmates, Hermione Firmane and Millie Lightfoot, both age 10.

Everyone will be busy now sorting out decorations for their float. The class have been busy making Dragon Heads.  It will be a great addition to our Carnival on SATURDAY 5TH JULY.
